The Grown-Up Cloud I Was Hoping For

I loved the original Cloud years ago and wore it throughout college. I missed the scent, but I also couldn't bring myself to wear it again. I think some perfumes become so strongly tied to a certain time in your life that I'd rather keep those memories separate. I like finding new fragrances for new... chapters instead of blending everything together. Over time, Cloud also started smelling a little juvenile to me. Juvenile, but still amazing. I'd been searching for something that captured what I loved about Cloud while feeling a little more elevated and grown up. I tried Mod Vanilla and liked it, but it never became a favorite. Both it and the original Cloud also felt more like fall and winter fragrances to me. So my goal was to find a Cloud-like perfume that felt more sophisticated and could be worn year-round. When Cloud Aurora was announced, I was excited but hesitant after reading about the spun sugar note. I'm usually drawn to vanilla, woody, and amber fragrances. I love a sweet perfume, but "spun sugar" made me think it would lean too youthful. After trying it, I completely changed my mind. Yes, it's sweet and definitely sugary, but somehow it just works. It feels smoother, more balanced, and more refined than I expected. It's exactly what I had been looking for. The longevity has also been impressive. I go nose blind to it after a while, but everyone else seems to smell it just fine. I've only worn it out twice, and I've already gotten some incredible compliments. My aunt told me multiple times throughout the night how amazing I smelled, and one of the baristas at a drive-thru even blurted out how good I smelled. That's always a good sign. The original Cloud was always the fragrance that earned me the most compliments, and Cloud Aurora may just be its worthy successor.
