Works for me!

Submitted 22 days ago

From Greensboro, NC

I actually really like this jelly grip eyeshadow primer. I have a very oil face and eyelids. I often experience creasing, but I find that this primer acctually helps to keep my lids from getting greasy? I know other reviews have stated the opposite, but for the price of the product, I think it's worth giving a try! I also like the cooling sensation and find that it does help my eyeshadow stay far longer than if I don't have any primer on at all!

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Not the same as my milk hydro grip but good enough

I thought this was going to be a dupe for my milk makeup hydro grip eye primer which I love but its not its very close in performance but my hydro grip is still better. This texture is more watery in nature and you have to apply your shadow shortly after you apply this or you will have to reapply. This does still make your shadow pop which shocked me and for the price to be almost as good as a name brand you cant beat that I will repurchase this.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Not for oily lids.

Though it went on great on the initial application, felt matte, soft and blended eyeshadows just fine, my eyelids were a mess within the first 4 hours of wear time.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

Oily Lids- skip it

Tried this based on the reviews. I have oily lids after changing medications so wanted to switch from UD eye primer. This creases for me within 4 hrs? Not sure why the reviews are so high, didn't work for me but was worth trying for the price.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend

GOODBYE URBAN DECAY PRIMER!

Submitted 5 months ago

Love this product so much, it's so easy to work with and it's SO affordable! I wanted to look for something to replace my Urban Decay shadow primer since it's just too expensive for me. I honestly think this jelly grip primer from Essence works just as good for a fraction of the price, I honestly couldn't believe it. Make sure it's fully dried before applying any products though! They are not joking about putting the grip in the name cause the moment I tried to blend out eyeshadow where I didn't place the primer it creates a line so you can tell where the primer stopped lol. Nothing that can't be fixed by adding primer to those parts of my eyes and problem solved.
