This Smells Nothing of What You'd Expect and Can't Recommend

[I received this product in exchange for my honest review] I really wanted to love this one based on the name alone- it sounds bright, warm, and uplifting-but unfortunately, this just wasn't it for me. I actually was dreading writing this review because I had such high hopes. From the very first s...pray, something felt off. Instead of anything soft or inviting, the scent came across as sharp and overpowering in a way that didn't feel balanced or modern. I don't love using negative descriptors, but it leaned more toward a heavy, dated floral profile rather than anything light, fresh, or comforting. Knowing the notes, I was expecting something with a bit of tropical brightness and a soft vanilla warmth, but what came through most strongly to me was an intense white floral presence that didn't align with that at all. I even wondered if I might have gotten a bad batch because my experience seemed so different, so I went searching through reviews and blogs to see what others were saying. After reading more, I realized I'm not the only one who had this reaction-several people mentioned the scent leaning heavily floral, feeling stronger than expected, and not really picking up much of the vanilla. I gave this multiple chances-spraying it on my skin, on clothing, on fabric I wasn't wearing, and even on a test card that I revisited hours later. Each time, the result was the same. It was consistently too intense, and unfortunately, it even gave me a headache almost immediately. I also had a few other people smell it without sharing my thoughts first, and they had similar reactions-it just felt overly pungent in a way that wasn't pleasant. I think the tuberose and jasmine combination may be what's coming across so strongly to me-it gives the fragrance a much heavier, more traditional floral feel than I personally gravitate toward. One thing I will say is that the dry down is noticeably different from the initial spray. It softens somewhat over time, but for me, it never quite settles into something I'd want to wear. That said, if you do happen to enjoy this type of fragrance, it definitely lasts-it has strong staying power. There are a couple of positives worth mentioning: the bottle is absolutely beautiful, and the name really does capture a cheerful, summery vibe. I just wish the fragrance itself aligned with that feeling. For something called "Sunny Vanilla," I expected warmth and softness, but on me it read much sharper and more florals-forward than the name suggests. Based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend this one. Once I'm able to get into a store, I'd still like to smell it again just to confirm whether this is truly how it's meant to be or if something may have been off with my bottle.
