Yes, my skin feels good after the shave and yes, the shave is close. That said, there is much more friction once the gel converts to foam and there seems to be very little benefit of foam over gel. I use the Shaving Gel in addition to Particle Men's Anti-Aging Face Cream. I usually shave with an electric razer but I thought I would try this. It met my expectations and more. It is the best shaving gel I have ever used. Shaving was so easy with this gel that it made it enjoyable. Love this product.
