Is this SPF primer good for oily skin? If so, does it sit well under Estee Lauder Double Wear, without separation?

The Smashbox Photo Finish SPF 45 Primer is lightweight and non-greasy, so it can work for oily skin, but it does have more of a dewy, hydrating finish rather than a matte one. It should sit well under Estée Lauder Double Wear without separation - as long as you apply a thin layer and let it absorb for about a minute before going in with foundation. Since Double Wear is more matte and long-wearing, it can actually help balance out the glow from the primer. If you’re more on the oily side, you can also lightly set your T-zone or pair it with a mattifying primer in those areas for extra oil control.Was this answer helpful to you

It’s designed to create a smooth base for makeup while providing sun protection and antioxidant benefits. The lightweight formula applies clear and helps prep skin before foundation. That said, it leaves a more hydrated, dewy finish, so if your skin is very oily or you prefer a matte look, you might pair it with a mattifying primer in oil-prone areas like the T-zone. I'm in New Mexico, spend a lot of time in the sun and need SPF protection. I also wear makeup or at least tinted moisturizer so a primer is a must. This combines both and gives me everything I need. It's lightweight, lasts all day and gives a great base for makeup.

I've been using the Smashbox SPF Primer in the mornings as part of my routine, and I really love it. I've always been a fan of Smashbox (their Photo Finish primer is my OG), so I was excited to try this one. It applies like a lightweight cream and melts into my skin instead of sitting on top. It feels silky and moisturizing without being greasy, and I didn't experience any pilling. I also love that it doesn't leave a white cast like some SPF products can. I have combination skin (oily in the T-zone with some dry areas), and this worked really well for me without any irritation. It layers nicely with my skincare and wears beautifully under makeup. I received this product for free from Smashbox for testing and review purposes. That being said, I've actually been a longtime user of Smashbox primers. I'm always going to love the OG, but as I started getting older I started prioritizing sun care. This primer combines the best part of the OG with spf, a perfect match! It does have the spa smell but that doesn't bother me. The texture is similar and doesn't make me feel greasy. There was no whitecast which was also a huge plus!
