I have dry skin that usually gets flaky under foundation, but applying this essence first completely changed that. It makes my skin feel instantly plump and hydrated, creating a smooth base. My makeup easily lasted through a full 8-hour workday without settling into fine lines. My favorite thing is the lightweight, milky formula—it absorbs fast without leaving a greasy film. The only minor downside is that the scent is a bit earthy at first, but it disappears instantly.

With its lightweight, watery consistency that quickly sinks into the skin, this essence is versatile and can be described as a skincare/makeup hybrid. When applying this product as part of my skincare routine, I love that it brings hydration back to my face after cleansing and helps further skincare steps absorb more effectively. There is a subtle earthy scent likely from the carrot root water. It works well underneath moisturizer, serum, and oil without pilling. However, my favorite way to use this is as a makeup primer since it plays well with all types of makeup- liquids, creams, and powders. The first thing I notice is that it immediately gives my skin a dewy glow. The HALEYS Beauty Re-Prep Hydrating Carrot Priming Essence is quickly becoming my favorite step in my skincare/makeup routine. It truly makes my skin look soft and smooth, and feel plump and hydrated. The formula is lightweight but milky, and sinks in right away. It gives me a perfect base for applying smooth looking makeup. This priming essence gives my combo skin a much needed boost of hydration without being sticky or heavy.
