little gadget that packs a punch

so I'm a massage tool aficionado. i have all sorts of manual and portable and chair massage gadgetry. i like deep tissue and shiatsu. if a gadget can satisfy my needs, i hand it a full 5 stars.this little massage gun (and i definitely say little because other guns I've owned certainly have longer ha...ndles if not also necks. does size matter? we'll get there in a second) has got to be the prettiest packaged massage gun I've seen to date. lots and lots of text presumably satisfying your inner geek. i ignored that; i tend not to read instructions, you see. a massage gun shouldn't need instructions. i pulled it out from its foam padding, added the standard foam ball attachment, and turned it on. 40% power upon arrival. nice! more than enough to play with before i send it to the charger. notable features include the fact that there are 8 speed settings (1-8), but uniquely (and i say this because i have not seen it before in other massage guns), It's got an interesting low and slow pulse before you make skin contact, and depending on the pressure you exert from the gun onto your skin, the pulse intensity and speed goes up. i'd argue that the max intensity when pushing strongly at 1 isn't that far off from the max at 8, except for less frequent pulses. that brings me to my next theory that this is a little power drill, but rather a power massage drill. y'know, on a drill, you have multiple settings for increasing RPM. similar deal here. and a fun slightly "tunable" extra oomph, depending on how much additional pressure you add in. i seem to have found a light/no default pressure, a medium, somewhat pulsing pressure, and the full monty. which do i like best? now, given the range of options, It's nice to have choices! it all depends.the light (slow pulse) and medium (medium frequency pulse) options are actually sort of nice alternatives to have to the power hammer intensity that my other massage guns already have -- which i also enjoy, of course. sometimes it can be helpful to send rhythmic intentional pulses to knots and adhesions to help break them up, aside from using the 10000000 ton jackhammer. different tools for different purposes. likely similar intentions with TENS units which deliver client-determined electric pulses to stressed areas to release endorphins and relieve musculoskeletal pain, but are quite tunable. the practitioners I've worked with all say to dial the machines to the max i can take, but along those lines, the ability to dial with a massage gun, albeit not as finely tuned as a TENS (and not exactly with the same objective, but similar ballpark), is a really nice additional tool for my chronic back pain self-care regimen.can it go high? yeah. can it go low? yeah. when they go low, we go high. yeah, that, too. something.
