I wouldn't use this on dry hair.
One of the uses for the product is listed as: "Spray on dry hair to refresh curls." I do not like this and I do not recommend this. Once you can hack it, it's worth it
I rarely write reviews, but this was impressive enough to warrant it, and I think it gets used wrong quite a bit. It took me the first few uses to really figure out how it worked, because spraying it on dry hair (and too close to your head) is absolutely disastrous for fine curls. They will become crunchy, tangled, and it really won't curl them much. However, if you get your hair pretty damp or even fully wet with a spray bottle and then spray this (sparingly) from about a foot away, it's amazing. Gives you day 1 curls on day 3 in minutes! Don't be afraid of having to get the hang of it. This is the best curl trigger spray I've used. Take it from an ex-stylist.

I do not have a single positive thing to say about this product. It makes your hair hard, crunchy, and impossible to manage. I had to brush through it like 5 times, clarify thrice, then deep condition before my hair stopped feeling like sticky straw.
