I genuinely don't understand how this product has more than one star reviews. This is, without a doubt, the absolute worst dry shampoo I have ever used and one of the worst hair products I've ever tried in general. I live somewhere where it gets extremely hot, and the first time I used this product, I was sweating and the color literally ran down my face and neck like black sweat. It was incredibly embarrassing. The second the product is sprayed, the color gets EVERYWHERE, so if you choose to use it, be extremely careful and prepare for a mess. I have jet black hair, so I thought the color would be a good match, but even after it dried, the product transferred onto my fingers and underneath my nails every time I touched my hair. I shouldn't have to worry about accidentally staining my hands just from touching my own hair. I would not recommend this product to anyone, especially if you live somewhere hot or tend to sweat. This was an absolute fail for me, and I wish I had listened to the negative reviews before purchasing it.

When it comes to the effectiveness of this as a dry shampoo, it is wonderful! It lives up to the Batiste reputation of great products. I just use a quick spray, rub it in a bit, and my hair looks fresh and ready to go. However, the color is intense. It is highly pigmented. Which with my hair is fine and looks good. But with being highly pigmented, it also easily transfers. I barely touched my hair to slightly rub it in and my fingers came out black. I was worried about using this with a lighter color shirt because of color fallout. And I definitely had to be careful about laying my head against anything. I shy away from using it at all for fear of the color transferring.

I really like this dry shampoo for dark hair. It absorbs excess oil quickly and refreshes my roots without leaving the white residue that many dry shampoos do. The black tint blends well and gives my hair a cleaner, fuller look between washes. It does transfer a little to my fingertips when I massage it in, so washing my hands afterward is a good idea, but it rinses off easily. Overall, it's a great option for extending the time between washes and keeping black hair looking fresh.

This provides good coverage for grays and greasiness for a hair refresh! However, the residue was heavy and if I put sunglasses on my head and then onto my face I had a lot of black residue transfer or if I touched my hair and then my face, it transferred, so that is something to be mindful of. Otherwise it's a great product.
