What is the difference between the No.4 Fine Bond Olaplex shampoo and conditioner and the No.5 Fine Bond?
- Asked by Jo
- Official Answer By Olaplex - Brand EngageNo.4 Fine Bond is the shampoo, designed to gently cleanse while adding lightweight volume and body for fine hair. No.5 Fine Bond is the conditioner, which provides hydration, detangling, and lightweight nourishment without weighing the hair down. Both are formulated for fine hair, but the shampoo cleanses while the conditioner moisturizes and softens. Was this answer helpful to you

So disappointed
Hair Type Very Curly Hair
Fine, curly, colored hair- left it like straw. Also my leave-in 'soaped up' when i applied it. Won't be using again.
More like NOlaplex.
Hair Type Straight Hair
I have very fine hair and have been using the regular Olaplex for years. It's been amazing for my easily-damaged hair. When I saw there was an option specially for fine hair, I was so excited, but it's terrible! It left a sticky residue on my hair, no matter how much I rinsed. The reside was also on my comb and brush. Because it made my hair sticky, it was more prone to damage from brushing and styling. Awful! Had to return and will switch back to the original formula.

Hair Type Straight Hair
Age: 40s Hair type: Fine, long, chemically treated Products: OUAI Fine Hair Shampoo + Conditioner Olaplex Shampoo + Conditioner (Fine Hair) As my hair has changed in my 40s, I've had to rethink how I choose shampoo and conditioner. I have long, chemically treated hair that's become finer over time. Previously, I leaned into very hydrating formulas—but they consistently left my hair looking limp and weighed down. After doing some research, I switched to formulas designed specifically for fine hair, and this combination has worked extremely well for me. OUAI Fine Hair Shampoo & Conditioner Lightweight and easy to rinse Doesn't weigh hair down Great for regular washes This is my go‑to for everyday use. My hair feels clean, soft, and has noticeably better volume without feeling dry or stripped. Olaplex Shampoo & Conditioner (Fine Hair) More nourishing and treatment‑like Slightly heavier, but still suitable for fine hair Leaves my hair feeling stronger and smoother I use Olaplex about 2–3 times per month, almost like a built‑in treatment wash. My routine: Wash every 3–4 days Alternate two wash cycles with OUAI, then one wash with Olaplex The result is hair that feels soft, has great volume, and—most importantly—doesn't get frizzy, even in summer humidity. I'm very happy to have found this balance, and I plan on sticking with this routine long‑term.

Awesome!
Awesome will buy again!
Ruined my hair
I have fine but dense hair. this stuff turned it into a rats nest out of the shower causing a lot of breakage. it also made my hair super oily.
