Rare Beauty sent me this foundation for free in exchange for my honest review. I'm in my late 40s with light-medium neutral, combination skin that leans slightly oily in the T-zone areas. I really enjoyed both the finish and feel of this foundation! The lightweight whipped formula gave me a soft-focus, natural skin-like finish that never looked overly dry, flat, or cakey. I wore shade 9, applied it mostly with my fingers and blended with a brush. It layered beautifully over my normal skincare and sunscreen without any pilling, streaking, or clinging to dry patches. I also noticed a subtle blurring effect that softened the look of pores and texture. Even after 8-10 hours without setting powder or setting spray, the foundation still looked fresh with no significant oxidation, patchiness, or separation. My natural oils came through slightly in my T-zone by the end of the day, but in a normal skin-like way rather than becoming greasy. Compared to other matte foundations I've tried, this one feels lighter and more breathable while still giving buildable medium coverage and impressive longevity. I also liked the packaging design. The bottle is lightweight plastic rather than glass, and instead of a removable cap it uses a built-in locking mechanism for the pump that you can toggle between locked and unlocked positions, which felt secure and convenient for travel. Overall, I would absolutely purchase this again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a long-wearing soft matte foundation that still looks like real skin.

This is a very nicely packaged foundation. I love the LOCK feature! You can "turn the pump on and off", so that will be great for travel. The coverage is exactly as stated, a medium, buildable coverage. The finish is VERY matte. I am 37 and have my skin prep DOWN pat, so the matte finish looked great on my "maturing" skin. If you are over the age of 25, and newer to makeup and skin prep, it may not be the right foundation for you. I love it, especially the "lock" design.

I'm genuinely impressed with this foundation! The finish is beautiful. It's matte without looking flat or dry, and it still lets your skin look like skin. It blended so easily and felt lightweight, but still gave really nice, buildable coverage that evened everything out without looking heavy or cakey. I also loved how comfortable it felt throughout wear and that it stayed looking fresh for hours. It was a great match for my complexion. I received this product in exchange for my honest review. I have been looking for a new foundation after the one I used was discontinued and I think I've found it! This foundation is full coverage with a matte finish, that I really enjoy wearing both for day time and night events. I found a little goes a long way and I really like the how I can control how much product I want with the pump. I've worn this for multiple hours and didn't notice any oxidation or it transferring. I also have sensitive skin and have not noticed that this foundation has irritated me or caused any breakouts. I've already purchased another shade for summer because I honestly like this foundation that much.
