Color payoff is determined by starting hair color + porosity of strands. The darker the hair, the more subtle the color depositing effect. Color Depositing Masks are not designed to cover grays, lift or lighten.
To start: Apply gloves and conduct a strand test first on dry hair to determine desired results. Apply color to one strand of dry hair, leaving on for 5 minutes. Rinse. If color is too sheer, conduct another strand test and leave it on for a longer period of time.
Pro Tips:
- For a sheer color effect: With gloves, apply to clean, wet hair and leave on for 1-5 minutes. Comb through for even distribution and best results. Rinse thoroughly.

Cyber Tokyo for the win!
Vivid colors are HARD to keep in your hair, especially purple. I use Cyber Tokyo every other time I wash my hair, and the color is vibrant, noticeable, and my hair feels so soft after treatments. I leave it on for a good 10-15 minutes when I take my shower, then rinse right before I get out. I do use gloves, because it tends to stain your hands a bit but it's worth it for the pay off. I refreshed my permanent purple dye job back in June and have used this product ever since. I haven't had to re-dye my hair once since then.
Don't listen the ignorant with bad reviews.
This is not professional color. Nor do you use developer with it. So what does that mean? THIS WAS NEVER GOING TO COVER GRAYS. I'm sorry to dissapoint some of you but if you want gray coverage you have to use permanent color or semi permanent. This color is meant to deposit a sheer amount on the top layer of your hair. It will LIGHTLY stain your hair. It's not meant to last long because it is not meant to penetrate the hair follicle deeply enough. Yes it will stain your hands, scalp and whatever surface it gets on. Thats what any hair color depositing product will do. So don't be a dummy and wear gloves/ be careful handling the product as you should with ANY product that's meant to stain your hair. Yes you need to use conditioner afterwards. The term "mask" referes to the type of consistency the product has. So after you rinse, you will need to use conditioner. Some of y'all want professional results without paying professional prices. This is a great product if you actually understand what it's meant to do. Stop leaving bad reviews of perfectly good products simply because you chose to not do a quick google search to understand how this type of product works. OH & if you're a blonde expecting this to properly make you dark… stop being cheap. Go to the salon. Even professional color will make you look a mess if you dont fill the hair with a different color before going dark. With love, Your local hair nerd
