Surprisingly Bad
Ive owned several chi's and isually like them all. I got this one to replace a 1 inch iron I gave to my mom, because I like a wider plate to create looser curls (I curl my hair with a straightener most days). I really don't know what it is about this iron that is so different but it just does not work for my hair at all which I would classify as pretty normal wavy hair. No matter how I use it or which heat setting I try I still always have some frizz and some sort of lack of control. I wondered for months if it was the water at my new house or a different shampoo, but after buying a different chi straightener, I've realized that it's this particular straightener that was causing issues. It also damaged my hair, again regardless of the heat setting and I would notice little strands that appeared fried after a single pass, so I think something about the coating on this or the way it heats was just causing severe dryness and uneven heating. It also always smells like it's burning and would leave a burnt scent in my hair. I would just choose a different straightener.

I use chi product products and straighteners all the time I go to is my chi air I thought this would be better for my hair, but it does not straighten it at all. I have to go through it three or four different times and I bought it because I did not want it to fry my hair.
I wanted to love this....
I was looking to replace my Chi that I have had for over 10 years & was just not performing the best anymore. I stuck with the brand & really wanted to love this, but I am disappointed & will be looking for another one. The plates get hot extremely quickly, but I would have to go over my hair multiple times for it to be straight right after blow drying it.
Great flat iron
I recently replaced my old flat iron with this one, and I couldn't be happier with the upgrade. It heats up quickly, glides smoothly through my hair without pulling, and leaves it looking sleek and shiny. I've noticed it takes less time to style my hair compared to my old one.

I was gifted this straightener for christmas & I personally love it. My hair is on the straighter side already & i've only used one straightener for the past 10 years so I may have a bias but this one does the job imo. I only have to go over my peice of hair 1-2 times & im good. I also love the auto shut off setting bc i always would stress about that when leaving the house in the past.
