I got this one to replace a 1 inch iron I gave to my mom, because I like a wider plate to create looser curls (I curl my hair with a straightener most days). Disappointing
I really wanted to stick with Chi I've had my old one for 10 years and worked great. The pink one i had before that was also really good. I could straighten and curl and my hair would feel smooth and silky. This one i got i have to go over the peice of hair hair like 3 times to straighten. When i curl it it would barely a curl. My hair also does not feel silky like my old one would leave my hair. Disappointing will change the brand I go with now.

Surprisingly Bad
Ive owned several chi's and isually like them all. I got this one to replace a 1 inch iron I gave to my mom, because I like a wider plate to create looser curls (I curl my hair with a straightener most days). I really don't know what it is about this iron that is so different but it just does not work for my hair at all which I would classify as pretty normal wavy hair. No matter how I use it or which heat setting I try I still always have some frizz and some sort of lack of control. I wondered for months if it was the water at my new house or a different shampoo, but after buying a different chi straightener, I've realized that it's this particular straightener that was causing issues. It also damaged my hair, again regardless of the heat setting and I would notice little strands that appeared fried after a single pass, so I think something about the coating on this or the way it heats was just causing severe dryness and uneven heating. It also always smells like it's burning and would leave a burnt scent in my hair. I would just choose a different straightener.
Junk
I use chi product products and straighteners all the time I go to is my chi air I thought this would be better for my hair, but it does not straighten it at all. I have to go through it three or four different times and I bought it because I did not want it to fry my hair.
