Might have received a defective product.

As a regular user of heat tools to smooth my chronically frizzy hair, I was excited to receive a BaBylissPro Thermal Round Brush for free in exchange for my honest review. I like the way this brush felt in my hand - it was lightweight, and the cord swivels effortlessly as you turn the brush. However..., there were a few challenges with this product. Firstly, since it's called a "Blowout Brush" and has vents, I was expecting it to blow air, and it wasn't immediately clear whether to use it on wet or dry hair. I'm still uncertain whether it is supposed to blow air or not, as either a few things are potentially defective with my brush, or it suffers from poor design (not intuitive for the user, and instructions are lacking in clarity). Choosing a higher heat mode, the lights never turn from red to green, nor do they flash as the brush is heating up, so it's impossible to tell when it's ready for use. This feels like a defect in my brush because it is so different from any other heat tool I've used and seems unlikely to be the intended design. It's also too easy to accidentally change the heat with your regular grip. When using the Ionic setting, there was no discernible way to tell it was activated beyond the light. I expected it to make a sound or feel different in the output, so again, not sure if it's faulty. I used the ionic setting on 1/2 of my hair and turned it off for the other 1/2. I couldn't see a difference in the 2 sides, although my partner chose the non-ionic side as the smoother-looking side. All of that said, I liked the way the bristles gripped my hair to create good tension without tangles, and would say this brush certainly tamed a lot of my unruliness and gave a nice shape to the ends of my hair. If the instructions were clearer and the settings more intuitive, this would be a thumbs-up from me. Sadly, because of the stated issues, I can't tell if my brush was defective or not, therefore making it impossible to give a fair and accurate review
