Less hold than I expected
For a "max hold" product, I feel a little disappointed with the strength of the hold. My hair is bra strap length, very thick and dense, and sits between a 2C and 3A in texture depending on the products I use. For a "max hold" product, I feel a little disappointed with the strength of the hold. My hair is bra strap length, very thick and dense, and sits between a 2C and 3A in texture depending on the products I use. I live in a dry environment, and I need a strong hold to keep definition instead of frizz without weighing my already heavy hair down due to the volume of product that it requires. If I use a few very hefty handfulls of this gel, I do get some lovely definition and my hair does spring up into ringlets. However, it doesn't leave much of a cast, which means no additional scrunching - nice, but also means that the hold is a bit soft - less nice. My hair looks great for a couple of hours, but then starts to droop and frizz on me through the day, and it never lasts for a second day. I'll go through this tub but won't repurchase. It does smell nice. Very light and unobtrusive.
